HERBALISM
HERBALISM; is the art of collecting,conserving,utilizing and application of medicinal plants for the care and prevention of illnesses, and for promoion of physical and spiritual well being,Many poeple often confuse the term herbalist with other terms such as native doctor,juju doctor etc. in the minds of many nigerians,,there is no difference between the herbalism,native doctor,sorcerer,magician, diviner,witch or wizard. they are all the same,thus the term has pagan, connotation.the herbalism is often seen as a subject of fear,an idol worshiper' who can kill at wil.
The are two approaches to herbal medicine practice,namely; ;
(1) CLINIC-ORIENTED APPROACH
(2) ,COMMUNITY-OREIENTED APPROACH
(1),CLINIC- ORIENTED APPROACH; In clinic- oriented approach, emphasise is place on scientific identification,conservation and of use of medicinal plants
(2).COMMUNITY-ORIENTED APPROACH;the emphasis here is on the crude and local production of herbs used for common illnesses.

CASHEW;(anacardium occidentals) cashew contains phenols,tannis and anacardic and cashew is on anthelminic plant,it is used in the treatment of diabetes,warts,fe'ver,malaria,scurvy,fever and elephantiasis. 
WATERLEAF (talinum tiangulare) waterleafe a good material in prepparing home soap is also herbal remedy for hypertension,anaemia and scabies.waterleaf is usefull in healing fresh injury. 
MISTLETOE;( viscuma album) mistletoe is an all purpose herb,it grows on top of the tree where such tree develops cancer. that is it does well on cancer of a tree. misleteo contains tannis and alkaloids.it is used in all kinds of sickness including woman gyneocological problems epilepsy, stroke hypertension and cancer

AGAVA; for back pain, waist pains,boil with water and add honey and rub

HMA WEED ( euphorbia hirta) As the name goes,asthma weed is a herbal plant for asthma treatment .the dried leave should be used as an infusion or treatment.it is also a good herbal treatment for constipation,hey fever,dysentery,cough,bronchitis,catarrh and hypertension.it is an aphrodisiac (increase libido)and increases lactation and shape of breast. 
N PEARS ( cajanus cajans)pigeon pears is used in the treatment of sickle cell anemia .it is a blood booster and purifier and it is execellent in the treatment of person with shotage of blood after long period of ailment .
LIME ORANGE; (cirus aurantifolia) lime is used as natural preservative of many herbal preparations,it is used in the treatment of typhoid, jaundice, fever,sore throat, headache and stomach ache. 
COCONUT;( cocos nucifera) coconut fruit is for food while other parts of the parts of the plant are used for the treatment of fibriod,hepatits,bronchitis,toothache,liver problems,scabies and dysentery.coconut water is anti-poison and reduces effect of druge over dosage. 
SAINT LEAF;( BASIL OCINUM) saint leaf is a medicinal herb with pungent teste,increases vata, pungent food are stimulation and warming, it relieves cold,lethargy,depression,obesity and circulatory problem
